About this workshop

Buying your first home can feel complicated when you’re not sure what to do first. Should you check your credit? Figure out your budget? Talk with a lender? Find a real estate agent? Start looking at homes?

This workshop puts those pieces in a practical order. We’ll walk through five decisions to make before you begin seriously shopping: checking your credit, choosing a comfortable housing budget, deciding how much cash you want to use, getting pre-approved, and identifying the needs and wants that will guide your home search.

We’ll also talk about why the maximum payment you can qualify for isn’t necessarily the payment you should choose, why your down payment is only one part of your cash plan, and how a real estate agent can help turn your priorities into a realistic home search.

The goal isn’t to make you a mortgage expert. It’s to help you understand what to do next, what questions to ask, and when you’re ready to start shopping with confidence.
