About this workshop
Buying your first home can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to understand how much you can afford, how pre-approval works, what credit issues matter, and how much money you really need to get started.
This workshop walks through the homebuying process in plain English. We cover the numbers lenders look at, including income, debts, credit, down payment, closing costs, and estimated property expenses. We also explain what a pre-approval means, why sellers often expect one, and what information may be needed before a lender can issue one.
The class also reviews common mortgage terms, minimum down payment options, gift funds, down payment assistance, mortgage insurance, credit score considerations, and the basic differences between loan programs. The goal is to help first-time buyers understand the process before they start shopping, so they can ask better questions and make more informed decisions.
This is a good starting point for buyers who are early in the process, unsure whether they can qualify, or trying to understand what steps to take before making an offer.
